Leadership and Expertise in Advancing Diabetes Primary Care
Last year (2025) René Hinton, had the opportunity to present at a professional conference, using Diabetes Complete Care as a real-world example of how multidisciplinary, team-based diabetes care can work at its best.
René is also a co-author of a recently published article in the Australian Diabetes Educator journal titled “Advancing Diabetes Primary Care Through Interprofessional Collaboration.” The article highlights how Diabetes Complete Care has evolved from a sole practitioner model into a collaborative team approach, bringing together diabetes educators, nurse practitioners, dietitians, podiatrists, psychologists, GPs, and other health professionals — all working together with one shared focus: the person living with diabetes .
What makes this especially meaningful is that the model described in the article is not theoretical — it’s exactly how care is delivered every day at her clinic, Diabetes Complete Care. Strong relationships, clear communication, shared decision-making, and genuine collaboration are what allow our team to provide coordinated, person-centred care .
René’s vision, leadership, and passion guide the clinic. Her work not only benefits the patients directly, but is also helping shape how diabetes care can be delivered more effectively across primary care settings.
This is team care done properly.
